Battle of the Books & Read to Lead

Teague Middle School has two groups that participate in district reading competitions throughout the school year. These two groups are Read to Lead and Battle of the Books.

Students in Read to Lead read two books while students in battle with the books team read 15 books from the Sunshine State Young Readers list that is put out every year. The list features a variety of fiction genres including graphic novels, science fiction, poetry, and historical fiction.

At the competition all Seminole County Middle Schools are represented in students are quizzed on the books through three rounds of questioning. Teams work together to answer multiple choice questions in round one and two followed by a short response question in round 3.
