Teague Assessment Information
Florida’s statewide, standardized assessments in English Language Arts (ELA) Reading, Writing, and Mathematics are aligned with the Benchmarks for Excellent Student Thinking (B.E.S.T.) Standards. The Florida Assessment of Student Thinking (FAST), which includes 6th, 7th, & 8th grade ELA Reading and Mathematics assessments, is administered as a progress monitoring assessment three times per year. B.E.S.T. writing assessments that are not part of the FAST progress monitoring program include grades 6th, 7th , & 8th. The end-of-course (EOC) assessments in Civics, Algebra 1, and Geometry. Students in 8th grade Science class will also take an assessment at the end of the school year that covers the entire Science curriculum.
Electronic Devices & Testing
During any statewide or district assessment, students are not allowed to have electronic devices on them at any time during testing. Prohibited devices include Cell Phones, Smart Watches, Smart Glasses, Tablet Devices, Cameras, or any device capable of listening, recording, storing, viewing, or playing back audio or visual content. Smart glasses of any kind may not be worn during statewide assessments. Students with prescription smart glasses will need to remove them or test another day with standard glasses. Any violation of the electronics policies during statewide assessment will result in the student’s test being invalidated.
