Teague Clubs and Activities

Teague strives to offer all students extracurricular opportunities to participate in service and social clubs on campus. Teague Clubs are sponsored by Teague teachers or staff and usually meet before or after school. Our present clubs are listed below and if you need specific information about each club you can contact the sponsor for more information. Club details will be posted on the website and announced during TNN. If you do not see your club listed and would like to start your own club, contact Mr. Ferrell at 407-320-1565 for details!

 

Anime & Animation Club - Mrs. Slone, Sponsor

Membership Requirments: 2.0 GPA

Animoe & Animation Club meets on Tuesday from 4:15 - 5:15

The purpose of this club is to explore the art of Anime and Animation. We will look at differnet styles of Animation, Anime, and printed media such as comic books.

 

Bridge Club - Ms. Cowan, Sponsor

Membership Requirements: Open to all students

Bridge Club meets on Tuesday mornings from 7:45 - 8:30 a.m. in 7-208.

Teague is pleased to offer a Bridge Club.  The club is for anyone who is interested in learning how to play Bridge as well as students who already know how.   Bridge is a card game that can be played for a lifetime and a game in which, with practice, you will constantly learn new tactics and strategies.  It is very popular among people of all ages and you'll never learn to play younger!

The club is sponsored by Ms. Cowan and the lessons/play are supervised by Teague Dividends Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Steiner.  We meet every Tuesday morning at 7:45 unless otherwise announced.

Don't worry if you don't know the first thing about the game, come learn along with the rest of us! 

 

Chess Club - Mr. Billings, Sponsor

Membership Requirements: Open to all students

Chess Club meets on Monday afternoons from 4:15-5:15 p.m. in Portable16.

The goal of the TMS Chess Club is to give every person the opportunity to learn how to play chess and how to improve their chess play. Chess is a game of creativity, intelligence and strategy. Using videos and books the Chess Club members will learn popular Chess strategies and winning moves. The history of chess and the philosophy behind the game and its structure will also be introduced. We are always searching for ‘Bobby Fisher’ but more importantly the Chess club students will gain knowledge of the game, friendships, learn good sportsmanship and have FUN! There is no restriction as to gender, age or ability. 

 

Gamers Club - Mr. LaPlaca, Sponsor

Membership Requirements: Open to all students

The Gamers club meets on Thursdays from 4:10 - 5:10 pm in Mr. LaPlaca's room Portable 1

The purpose of the Gamers Club is to bring students together that have a common interest in video games. In this club we will reinforce games that require students/players to work together and get along with each other. If you have any questions please see Mr. LaPlaca in Portable 1.

 

FCA (Fellowship of Christian Athletes) - Mrs. Scheffler, Sponsor

Membership Requirements: Open to all students

FCA meets on Wednesday Mornings in the gym (and cafeteria) from 7:30 - 8:55 am

FCA purpose is to give students a time to fellowship together and have fun on Wednesday mornings. You do not have to be an athlete or a Christian to come and join us because it is open to any student at Teague. If you have any questions see Mrs. Sheffler in 07-222.



Future Educators Club - Ms. Berry, Sponsor

Membership Requirements: Open to all students

The Future Educators Club meets on Tuesday and Friday  afternoons from 4:10 - 5:10 p.m. in 3-103

Mission: Build a rigorous and inspiring pathway to accomplished careers in education, beginning in secondary school.
Vision: Our vision is that every child will have access to a well-prepared and effective teacher, and students will view teaching as an attractive and rewarding profession.
Impact: Attract, prepare, and support young people to become effective teachers and to have more effective teachers entering careers in education.

 

Meetings will be held every Monday and Friday after school from 4:00 – 5:00 pm. Please contact Ms. Benetetto for a membership form and more information.

 

JROTC - Mr. Billings, Sponsor
Membership Requirements: Student must be a JROTC class member and have been chosen by Mr. Billings
Students will practice basic military marching and flag ceremonial protocol. Cadets are also involved Seminole County JROTC drill demonstrations and competitions.

 

National Junior Honor Society (NJHS) - Ms. Clarke and Mrs. Beck, Sponsors
NJHS meets every other Thursday of each month in the Media Center from 4:00 - 5:00 p.m.
Membership Requirements: Each member is invited by the Teague NJHS panel and is involved in a stringent application process governed by the National Junior Honor Society. Members are chosen from seventh and eighth grade student candidate forms in October.

Board Game Club - Mr. Fabris, Sponsor

Membership Requirements- Open to all students

The Board Game Club meets on Tuesday from 4:15 - 5:15 in Mr. Fabris's room 06-119
Students are invited to come and play board games in the afternoon after school with their friends. Students will practice skills relating to game theory and probability. We will focus on board games that practice cooperation, card/number management,  and probability. If you have any questions, please see Mr. Fabris in room 06-119

 

Drama Club - Dr. Sterling, Sponsor

The Drama club meets on Fridays at 8:15 am in room 3-102.

Students who are interested can come and join the drama club which will work on and reinforce skill sin drama and stage presentation. Students will work together and learn cooperation skills, performance skills, and have fun in the process. If you have any questions, please contact Dr. Sterling in room 3-102.

 

Robotics Club - Mrs. Hanstein, Sponsor

Membership Requirements- Attend meetings, pay dues and attend robotics competition.

The Robotics Club meets Tuesday and Thursday from 8:00 - 9:00 am in portable 7.

Students will earn to work in cooperative groups and program and design Lego robots for team competition. Students will be assigned to teams for competition and work on programing their robots along with the other required parts of the Robotics Competition. Soccer Club - Mr. Fabris, Sponsor
Membership Requirements: Open to all students
The Soccer Club meets on Monday from 4:15 - 5:15 pm in Mr. Fabris's room 06-119
All students are welcome regardless of experience level. Students will learn the rules of the game and soccer skills. The Teague Soccer club will allow students to interact in a non-competitive environment and enjoy games with peers at Teague. This club will give students the opportunity to show off their soccer skills and have some fun. All students must complete and submit a SCPS parent consent form before participating.   All interested boys and girls may attend.  For more information, contact Mr. Fabris at fabrisrz@scpsk12.fl.us .
